an old engine builder I used and a national record holder drag racer told me to go on the highway when there isnt a lot of traffic and put it in 2nd, should work on an auto in 2nd not D, then run it up to red line and let off the gas and let it decell down until it bogs, then accell back up to redline and then let off until it bogs, one more time to redline all of this in 2nd. he said it dumps gas in the cylinders and gives the rings a good fit and scratch in. of course this was on a carbuerated engine, not sure how it would work on fuel injection
