I've been in the Mercedes business for a long time, and the question being asked here is nothing new. I remember when the 116s came out in the early '70s and the 108 crowd was aghast at how "flimsy" they were. 113 people pointed to the body side moldings on the 107 chassis that didn't weigh 5 pounds each as an example of how cheap they were. I'll take less weight and more horsepower, myself, but to each his own.
