This is not the same M104 engine that came in 1993 and newer cars.

It is basically an M103 engine with a DOHC head. It uses the same ignition system as M103 engines, CIS-E, not the HFM that later M104's use. I don't think it has variable valve timing, either.

It is still a great engine, though.
