I haven't run into the different thread size of the primer pump, its just a little more difficult to get to as you must remove the fuel lines to get a wrench on it. I've also heard you could send it off to Finland (or someplace  ) and for a few K get it modified to make your 617/616 go faster  The "M" pumps are more of a pain to install delivery valve seals in also.
