It is a trip all right. Clearly some pharmaceuticals are a serious benefit, Godsend, you name it. I recently screwed up and broke a few ribs (don't ever do it, trust me) and just the pain meds are pretty useful in such a situation. Vicodin, etc. really helped me to get through it. And antibiotics can be a real boon.

The history channel now and then runs info on what people used to have to go through to TRY to get rid of syphilis or gonorrhea. Whoa.

But big pharma strikes me as sorta outta control. The most profitable business in the world and it acts like they are determined to maintain that status in perpetuity, one way or t'other, whether people really need every new product or not.
