In my (less than humble) opinion; the '90/'91 SDLs were the best that the 126 ever got.
The engine on the other hand, very clean and driveable, but I don't think that anyone has conclusively determined the cause of failure, but keeping it from overheating and being sure that the head/gasket doesn't leak into the cylinders and possibly cause hydrolock.
And if that fails, I have this 3.5L block here with good crank, pistons, and rods, ...
