That just reminded me of something that happened when I was in "mechanic school" many years ago. A kid brought in his parents newish "'80 something" Escort to do a tune up. Him and his buds put in the spark plugs and cross-threaded one of them but he figured it was "tight enough"

Had his buddy fire it up while he was still under the hood checking to make sure it wouldn't leak. POWWW! Plug shot right out of there and just missed his head by an inch.

Put a good sized dent in the hood with a puncture. I had a good sized dent in the back of my head as I was working on a car in another bay and I jumped and whacked my head on the hood when I heard that!

At any rate, we got a heli-coil lesson while he cleaned his pants
