Any ides how long the glow plug light should stay on for the 190D 2.2L engine? It only turns on for a fraction of a second, less than 1 second most of the time. The car starts up first time every time but I just wonder why it is so short.

My 300SDL stays on for about 3-5 seconds. That is why I am puzzled. Also what cause the light to go off? Any info is appreciated.
