I put one on my 82 240D. Got it from Advance Auto for about $25...drilled 4 - 1/2" holes and bolted to the bottom of the bumper. P.O. had already added a wiring harness and had installed and removed another hitch. I pull a 5x12 utility trailer with it. You don't go too fast, but it keeps my trunk clean from not having to stowe fertilizer, pine mulch, lawn mowers or whatever other stuff I need to transport. I wouldn't trust it to more than 1000 #'s, but for light duty it serves me well (i.e. bumper hasn't fallen off yet).
