I'd think you could carefully take the injector apart and soak the pieces in an ultrasonic cleaner. That shouldn't affect the pop pressure and should clean them up nicely.

Riddle me this: Why do Mercedes and VW use different heat shields, even though the injector is the same? The Mercedes ones have a larger opening. Is it something to do with the prechamber vs swirlchamber design?

Yeah, I knew the heat shields were a "one time use" item. I could not find them locally --- did not call the dealer because their hours don't align with my work hours; none of the local places have them.

Ordered them from Phil.

I have no idea why the size is different.
