I don't think we disagree. I've been building and rebuilding PCs since before MS/PC-DOS was on the market, right up to today; there is considerable self satisfaction in having that knowledge and confidence in being able to "build" one.

On the other hand, I do find tremendous value in Apple products with a tightly integrated hardware/software platform. No, it's not perfect but is closer to seamless than any PC hardware/software combination.
