Straight line, starting, idling, OK. Jumping fuel relay appears to cure problem but relay tests OK. Can I run the car on the jumper without harm i.e., over pressure to fuel system? Stumped?

Did you shake the relay when you tested it? Heat it up? Could be your testing method just failed to reveal a bad relay, especially if your problems go away with it jumped.
