My best revenge came to a DB in a BMW. It was a cold winter day and I was traveling from Manhattan to Queens to visit the cemetery. The '87 SDL is very slow in the cold and I don't push it. Normally, it's not a problem..........people just pass............

I take the Queensboro Bridge from Manhattan to Queens. This bridge has an outer roadway that is built outside the bridge support structure. It's exactly one lane wide. Typical speed on the roadway is 35 mph..............except if you drive a BMW.

So, I round the turn onto the bridge at about 20 mph...........it's a long upgrade...........and begin a slow accel up to 30 mph. The BMW appears instantly and comes up to within about 3 feet of the M/B. I'm doing about 25 mph and climbing. This becomes way too exasperating for the DB because there is no traffic in front of the M/B and, apparently, he's on his way to a fire.

Now, the lights start flashing and the horn starts ringing...................

Funny thing happens..............the M/B immediately slows down to 15 mph.............unbeknownst to me how that happens...........must be an automatic sensor on the M/B that is sensitive to DB's in BMW's.

So, we proceed at 15 mph...........the horn now becomes incessant............and the M/B slows to 10 mph.

Finally..........the horn stops..........and the M/B accelerates up to 15 mph.............then 20 mph. The horn and lights have stopped.

But, the DB simply cannot stand it and the horn and lights begin all over again. The M/B slows to 10 mph again.

Finally, this DB realizes that the fastest way across this bridge is to behave unlike the typical DB that he is..........and we accelerate back to about 25 mph.

Our bridge trip takes about four minutes when it should have taken a bit over two minutes.

The single bridge lane opens up to four lanes on the Queens side and the DB pulls up on the left side of the M/B at the red light............and rolls down the window.

I give the DB no satisfaction...........don't even turn to look in his direction............and simply wave at him with my right hand.

He takes off at a speed of at least 50 mph (in a 30)..........and disappears.

That was the ultimate revenge to the DB.

When I install my diesel fueled "proximity regulator", I'll feel a whole lot better about dealing with these unmitigated arrogant POS.
