On my '83 240D there are 3 mounts - the two primary mounts on each side and then a "anti-vibration T-mount" that is located just behind that oil pan.
You do not need to remove the lower T-mount (if your earlier model has that) to replace the side mounts - at least I didn't when I replaced mine. I replaced both side mount at the same time and then changed the T-mount out later.
If you have all three bolts out, with the engine jack up, and the mount is stick to one side or the other - I would just smack it with whatever you can get in there - it should just fall out if you have the engine jacked up high enough. Just be careful when you jack up the engine - maybe loosen the fan shround so you don't damage the fan. And check to make sure there aren't and linkage or steering component running from that the engine to the firewall that are under too much stress.
