The hose has a tiny leak by the oil cooler? HMMM, that could become a gusher. the hoses are probably the original and 20 yr old rubber will be like a rock. any seeping around the crimps is a warning.

If the SDL is like the 300D 617, then use a 7/8 on the oil cooler as a back up and make a Flair nut wrench out of a 1 1/6 box wrench for the oil line.
