this thread gives me a brilliant idea! the ones that want Canadian style health care get to "opt in" to the Canadian health care system. the rest of us who enjoy what we've got now get to keep what we've got. here's the proposed rules:

once an individual has "opted in" or "opted out", no backing out. that's it, FOR LIFE. in addition, I propose that the doctors and companies such as this one http://www.timelymedical.ca/faq.html that are currently bringing needy Canadians into this great land of ours to bleed our health care system dry are forced to close their doors FOREVER.

those north of the border stay north of the border. those who live in the United States but want Canadian style health care get to move to Canada, become full fledge Canadian citizens and enjoy it along with the rest of the Canadians.

hey, if that is what the people want, why deny them?

PS. I'll bet fifty bucks that those who want Canadian style health care currently do not have health insurance........AND while I can certainly empathize with those who do not, there is an old saying; There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Roosevelt handed out free lunches during the depression in the form of soup lines. it was free, but you just might get good and sick from the "free soup". there are no easy answers to our dilemma, however tearing down the world's greatest health care system just isn't the answer. no matter how much the people want something for nothing.......
