If they were not UC Berkley grads maybe that theory would be plausable.
These guys are just freaken stupid. They should let them rot in jail for a few more months, maybe Al Gore or Clinton can fly over and get them out. The Iranians won't kill them they are far more valuable alive.
OTOH if they wanted to hike in Iraq so bad they should have just joined the Army. Uncle Sam would have paid them to hike all over that country.
