It takes some knowledge to do it the way
powerpig did.
I don't have all the same knowledge, but I
do have a good disk image available, and a bootable CD to let me restore it. If you value your time, then you should, too!
It worked great for me a few months back when a system hard drive failed. New hard drive in... restore image... back to work.
