You need to remember that we here in Texas get to take defensive driving if you're going 24 or less over the limit. I don't know where you picked up that 85MPH number. In a 70 zone you can get nailed at 94 and still take defensive driving...I love this state! I've been speeding around here for almost 20 years and have never had anything on my record. The only problem is you have to wait 12 months to take defensive driving again.

In my mind there is no difference between driving 71 and 94 except that you can get back down to the limit faster. If I'm going to get a ticket at 80 I might as well go 94!

Now if you're an out-of-stater I'm not sure what's gonna happen!
