I have seen two types of hood pads now, one just a cloth-like material, looking like a dark brown rug, the other looking like fibreglass but with an aluminum foil backing going against the engine. Both glue on the same and apprear to be in the same price range.

Any comments? Any advantages to having the one over the other for heat control, paint conservation or cleanliness?
