Thank you so much for answering my question...I really appreciate it. I had a feeling my mechanic wasn't being upfront about it and now I understand that it is a $$$ issue.

Using the tool is the "only way" to remove & change the ignition tumbler? I'm just wondering if there are any other options? (Unfortunately, I'm financially strapped at the moment so, going to the dealer is not doable).
