the black MB sealant is what I would use..003 989 9820 10.

On any oil sealing surface (front cover/oil pans etc) I'll use this stuff. Had the same problem w/ a few pans a while back, fresh everything and it wasn't leaking, but wet..which is a wee bit frustrating. On recommendation of a tech friend who's been @ it since 68 tried this stuff. Dry ever since!
