You're going to have to remove it anyway, so you may as well take a peek inside. If it looks too daunting, or you see a bunch of worn edges where nice crisp ones should be, go for the rebulit one.

If this is your daily driver, see what the return policy is on parts. You might be able to order both and return whichever one you don't use.

I'm getting ready to face the same thing, but since mine is a project car I won't know what I'm going to do until I get it out and inspect it.
