No I am not kidding...Like what Strife said, that is what I "heard" a while back. I can't find the thread, but the poster mentioned that he found metal scrapings all over his lock cylinder which caused it to fail prematurely.

If you want to use the flipper, get a new Mercedes key cut then get it put on the new holder. Don't use the metal provided and simply get it cut. You may regret it in the long run.

I am watching this thread as I would like to install one in my wagon in the future some day.
