As for the float, that comes from the fact that the pistons retract a slight amount due to the rubber seal in the piston bore.

Dont't forget to use brake grease on the pins/bolts and spray the rubber bits with silicone. parts places have small packets of the proper grease to use on the sliding mechanisms.
