AN easy way to ck the viscous fan is to get a couple of newspapers, roll them up, then try to stop the fan. But, make sure you know which way the fan turns, so you can lay the newspaper into the fan at an angle (use your head on this, common sense here). If you can stop the fan, the viscous is toast, if you can't it will shred the newspaper and the viscous is ok.
