Perhaps, you have a thought on how the billions of pounds of high explosives that existed for many years prior to the age of "you need wires" where detonated? People who have actual knowledge and actual experience are keenly aware that many extremely "serious" high level explosives and detonator substances can be "realistically" initiated by means other than "needing wires". Such methods and substances can be extremely effective in very small quantities and in non-metallic containments, and the chemical compositional differences between substances that act in a given circumstance as an "incendiary" vs. "explosive" in nature can be virtually indistinguishable and unpredictable.
P. S. It's usually not the blue or is it the red wire that needs to be cut to save the day!
