In one more year, that speeding ticket shouldn't matter, and you can ask your agent to adjust your rate or shop for another policy elsewhere.
Carriers usually (frequently but not always) pull your MVR at or before renewal. I had some serious points about 15 years ago but I had just gone through a renewal and it took the carrier almost a year to find out. They bumped my rates and wanted to continue the higher rates for the full 3 years. I changed carriers when the 2 yrs was up & I could truthfully answer "No" to the question "Have you had any moving violations in the last 3 years?" It was 3 years and a day so I was clear. I don't remember if the important date is the date of conviction or date of infraction. Don't ever submit an application unless you know it will be approved. Don't ever give more information than directly asked on the application. Don't ever lie as coverage may be rescinded when you have an accident. A good agent can help you navigate. A bad agent just throws as many apps as possible against the wall and sees what sticks.
