Basically yes. We're terrorizing ourselves.

They knew pretty damn well that all it would take to bugger us would be well placed publicity stunts. Then all we do from that point forward is freak ourselves out with crazy "security" stunts like this that do absolutely nothing to protect us. The only exception to the new rules are the reinforced bulkheads between the passenger cabin and the flight deck.

There was an article a while ago about how a man faked a boarding pass to get past security. He couldn't obviously get onto the plane, but could have very well used a fake ID to bypass the baggage ID checking and even the "Do not fly" list.

DHS in itself is a complete blunder. I'm not going to get started. I'd rather take a train then fly.
