If my memory serves me correct every time I have change oil in my 1984 190d the oil turns black after running her for a short time. I changed my oil pan gasket last weekend and filled her back up with Shell Rotella 15W40 + 1/2 quart of Lucas. I have been running around here just a little because I have an oil leak between the injector pump and where it attaches, but it's enough to turn the oil black - I just check it after a short spin and the oil still looks new. It just seems like it should be black by now.
