Can only speak from experience re: California law: doesn't matter for diddly squat who did what to whom. Everything that wasn't yours before the nuptials is by legal definition community property (with a few exceptions regarding gifts received during the marriage). Everything that is community property is split 50/50 at the time of the divorce.
Doesn't matter if one/the other/both screwed around.
Worse yet - in California, if you're married for 7 years or more, 'spousal support' is paid forever (unless said spouse dies or remarries).
