I think this was around '85, just a day or so ahead of Christmas. We ended up buying an '86 Isuzu Trooper with 4wd after that trip. I guess in Erie it could be just about any year ;-).

We were stuck in the high school for about 18 hours. A state trooper came in and said it finally stopped snowing, but it would be 4 hours 'till I90 opened up. He said they had been continuously plowing Rt 20? 5? and that it should be open. 4 carloads of us headed out together at 5am Christmas morning and it took 5 hours to get to Buffalo.

Again, the local folks were truly wonderful and generous with food, blankets, and hospitality.
