I can tell vinyl siding from the street. It just looks like plastic. HardiPlank can easily be mistaken for real wood. No, I don't sell this stuff, but I'd be proud to sell it.
I found the link (above) and now it looks like you can get them prefinished with a 15 year finish. One of the shake colors is damn close to the color we just painted our house, too.
