Helped friends replace their barn that collapsed a few years ago- the insurance basically paid for all the materials. It was a classic barn raising- his wife and her friends cooked all day, he and his friends built the walls and gable ends, and we all sat down to massive feast and kegs of good beer.
They did it again a couple of weeks later to get the roof and siding on.
Tons of fun- the two non drinkers ran the saws cutting everything to length, organized the piles of pieces, and the rest of us basically nailed a kit of parts together with the understanding that it was our own problem if we mashed the crap out of our fingers because we didnt know how to run a hammer.
