I'm not wild about Reid. Never have been. But I'd take him over Trent Lott in a heartbeat, and this business of conflating Reid's recent remarks and Lott's Thurmond remarks is pure nonsense. Not in the same hemisphere.

Bill Cosby and other prominent blacks have spoken on the value of black youth learning to speak proper English.
