Purchased 1980, 300d, non-turbo diesel on Ebay yesterday. Today when I saw it for the first time I had a problem. All fluid levels checked OK. Oil level looked tobe 1 to 2 Qt's HIGH. It started but is a HUGE Knock up in the front part of the Engine. I Turned it off right away! Could this be timing Belt or fuel pump out of time. I plan to haul to a MB expert next Mon.
