I am the proud owner of an 84 300D that my grandparents bought new while on vacation in Germany. They ordered it from the factory and drove it around Germany for a month visiting the various places my grandfather was stationed while in the army. It has never left our family and now has 115K on the clock. It has a MB Workshop sheet that lists all of the vehicle codes along with a stamped piece of metal that looks like a dogtag with my grandmothers name and the vehicle VIN#, etc. I was wondering if anyone else has this type of paperwork or "credentials" as I call them? Was this a normal practice when buying a vehicle in Stuttgart? Where can I find a list of the codes to translate my cars accessories? I always enjoy reading about this type of info on the forum!
