it seems pretty seamless in there, i.e. I can't get anything out and I really don't think there is something that is supposed to come out.

Which leaves me wondering whether there is supposed to be a heatshield in there before I install the new injectors?

Speaking of new injectors, my new injectors look slightly different than the previous injectors, both in the body and maybe even a bit at the nozzle.
