I have a 92 300SD, recently I started to smell diesel fuel fumes inside the cabin. I look around the fuel lines on the injectors (hard lines and return lines), lines are conpleted dry. Also around the the IP and filter. Every thing looks ok, there was a small wet spot at the bottom of the plastic fuel filter, there is a part that I don't know what it is (pic is below) I clean and check all the lines around it for cracks, every thing was in good shape. I need to follow the line from the filter to the gas tank. Can I see the gas tank from the trunk by removing the hasrd carpet? I don't want to remove stuff if I don't need to. Thank you guys again.
