No, we are reaping the evils of being lazy. We don't scrutinize the politicians carefully. All we do is go to the booth and pull one lever based on what party we belong to. Better yet, pull that lever one time every 4 years and expect that sucker to fix the world for you.
Don't blame the 2 party system. It could be 5 parties and the answer would be the same. You can get KFC or Popeye's. Either way, you are getting chicken just that it might have a different flavor.
