I have a W124 300TE with 140,000 on it and it runs great...even in Chicago the 4-Matic is not required. As a matter of fact it is a liabiltiy..

one look under the front end was enough...I said, there's no diff or half shafts or anything down there, this is not a 4 wheel drive car...seller says to me 'ALL MERCEDES BENZ' are 4 wheel drive....he wanted $6,800 for it, I bought it for $3,200....had 124,000 when I bought it...3 years ago...I wish I could find more, this car is A TANK...SCREW IT....this Mercedes Benz just does it...and I have a BMW in the waiting for a restoration as it coming upon 'classic' status....
