"Next" got "bumped" in the driver's door by the shop's forklift last week, but once I heard the story, I could feel the pain of the shop owner who really .

I power washed the w116 --- maybe a bit too much; stripped the paint off in a few areas. Most of the "black" came off. The chrome is in VERY good condition. I guess it has not oxidized much since it was covered with tree sap and bug "juice".

The engine still seems like it is NOT spinning fast enough to start. So, the original starter I took off, I took to the local rebuilder. They called this morning to report the inside of the starter looks brand new, but I had them replace the solenoid switch anyway.

The next thing I'm going to try is to adjust the valves --- this car needs to run very soon or else it will be on the chopping block.

Anyone interested in a w116?

I didn't have my camera with me --- I know, this thread needs some more pics.
