I tend to think so. After all, a Jap company across the street can build a SIMILAR car for $2000 less. In a Bentley, maybe $2000 isn't much. In a $20000 car, it is a huge amount to overcome. IOW, Toyota can build the same car, sell it for what you sell it and still be $2000 ahead. How do you overcome that gap.
Will it matter? The new company will either have a plan and work it out or it collapses. Sooner or later, something more efficient will come up. Of course, if you want to insist that we cannot bite the bullet today, we are not helping things. We are only prolonging the inevitable. We are also telling those companies that should they fail AGAIN, we will probably bail them out AGAIN.
