The plastic where the wood should be is correct. Standard Euro spec, wood was an extra price option. Wood was only standard on low end Mercedes in the US. That interior color is in fact one of my favourite ones but I've never seen that hideous fabric pattern in a Mercedes interior ever. It may have been ordered from Germany but I doubt it's factory. There were a couple of different fabric interiors and patterns during this time, one being a smoothe check pattern, one being like a kind of almost very fine corduroy pattern, of course there was the velour type, Tex and Leather, but this weired swirl thing I've never seen or heard of. Still, would be an interesting vehicle to have, given the manual tranny with the 300 engine.
