The biggest problem with our current sytem is at election time te Repubs run to the right and the dems run to the left to get the nomination then they both run to the center for the general. It stated in one of my classes (a long time ago) that america is a 40-40-20 county.
40 percent will vote R no matter what
40 Percent will vote D no matter what
20 percent are the ones you need for election the true swing-progressives
This may be alittle off topic but until the congress has to live by the same laws they pass for the rest of us peons nothing will change.

RichC- I am politically confused, I like the R's for their stance on national defence and lower taxes, The D's for their stance on womens rights and medical privacy, And the libertarians for thaer stance on if you are not hurting anyone with your actions is it really a crime.
