My mechanic said he would send it to a MB dealer to have the head gasket done which would cost around $3000. Last I checked the wiring harness was around $1000. I am somewhat mechanicaly inclined, I have done things like plugs, wires, brakes (rotors & pads) but I would be a little intimidated to do the head gasket and crank seal. What would a job like this cost through a good independent mechanic. I live in NH by the way.
