one of my buddies called me the other day in a panic.
he had just put 5gallons of rug in his 83 SD. with a 21gallon tank, I told him 5 gallons is not terrible, fill it to the brim, with deisel, and I mean BRIM. several clicks up the neck, and that will be a 25% mix basically. should be OK, I told him if he is worried about it, to drop a small bottle of 2cycle oil in there, the 2.5 oz should make up for any lubricity loss.
