If it's like most others I've worked on, it's on the back side. Theres usually a little hole that you stick a screwdriver into and back off the adjuster screw. Then the shoes will retract enough to get past the lip they have cut for themselves. Shouldn't be too much of a lip unless somebody's been driving with the e-brake on.......
