I have recently stared using the micro fiber towels and they work great. Here's what I do, After washing, take the nozzle off the hose and turn the water down so that the water shoots out about 6" before it bends. Then, start at the roof and float a sheet of water on the whole roof, then work your way down and across the rest of the car. If you have a good coat of wax, 80% of the water will sheet off the car.

Then take a damp chamois (I use a syntheteic, less residue) and starting at the roof again, wipe the area, then buff it with the micro fiber towel. It works amazingly well and is fast. Best of all, no scratches.

Look for micro fiber towels that are NOT made in China, Korea is OK. The Chinese ones don't absorb as well.
