I'm going to try to do a quickie self tutorial off of the web about the 64 bit thing. I don't have much hardware or software - just my HP printer, about 3 years old. I've been wanting to get a used copy of some sort of autocad, Autodesk 2008 or something, but since I haven't done it yet, I can make sure I get one that's compatible with 64 bit.
Just did the quickie tutorial, my HP printer has a Win7 64 bit driver download available.
But I'm pretty certain that there's no reason to re-run the XP pro install and choose 64 bit, as my machine only (only, hah, a while back it was a lot) about half a gig of Ram.

If and when you get a new machine, send me a message.
I will come on over, and tune it up for ya (remove preload junk, get you an antivirus, etc).
